Description:
The Roadside Slope calculator captures and stores roadside slope information on selected "linear-referenced" roadside features. It is part of the available tools for the "Feature Width" add-In from LrsTools for ArcGIS Pro. The tool is grouped with the set of tools for Feature Width extraction because the setup for determining roadside slopes begins with establishing linear features – often in the ditch or at the edge of a drop-off – that will represent the linear context of the measurement along the road centerline. After creating the linear feature and clicking the OnRoad(s) Measures button to assign OnRoad and reverse geocode to get the measures, the Z-elevations are sampled from the ends of the linear event plus the 3rd X/Y/Z point sampled some distance away from the constructed line. The tool will generate the results in draft format in a separate pane. The actual slope will be codified to the linear event if the Write Attributes button is clicked.
