Description:
Removes portions of route features based on the route shape/measure and LRS definition of polyline event features in another feature class or layer. Outputs the results to a new feature class. Particularly advantageous in making "dominant-only" route systems from "all-roads" route systems. This is a business use case prevalent in 52 state highway departments across the United States for the purpose of federal reporting to FHWA through the HPMS and MIRE and ARNOLD programs. All-roads networks are advantageous for motor vehicle crash locating – where road name can be ambiguous. Therefore, the all-roads network will offer all of the alternative names in parallel with the so-called dominant road name.
