This notification is to make you aware of a potential incompatibility when using geocoding in mobile map packages. You may be affected if you use mobile map packages in:
- An ArcGIS Runtime application
- ArcGIS Navigator
You may also be impacted when using StreetMap Premium mobile map packages created from StreetMap Premium Custom Roads.
What’s affected?
When impacted, you will get no response and no error message when you try to geocode using a mobile map package in ArcGIS Runtime or ArcGIS Navigator. For Android users, the mobile map package will not load. More details are described in the “Impacts” section.
What’s not affected?
Map visualization and routing are not affected when using mobile map packages. (The exception is Android)
Impacts
Current situation
To ensure compatibility with the currently released versions of ArcGIS Navigator or ArcGIS Runtime 100.14 or earlier, you must use ArcGIS Pro 2.9.4 or earlier if you plan to make modifications to a StreetMap Premium mobile map package with the Create Mobile Map Package tool. If you make no changes to a StreetMap Premium mobile map packages, you should not be impacted.
If using ArcGIS Pro 3.0 or later is a requirement, making modifications to StreetMap Premium mobile map packages with the Create Mobile Map Package tool will result in mobile map packages that are only supported in the following:
- ArcGIS Runtime 100.14.1 or later.
- End of 2022 releases of ArcGIS Navigator iOS or ArcGIS Navigator Android
If you are a Custom Roads user and generate mobile map packages, you also need to be aware of the limitations when using ArcGIS Pro 3.0 or later.
Behavior starting with the North America 2022R4 release in December 2022
The StreetMap Premium team will be using ArcGIS Pro 3.0.x to generate mobile map packages starting with the North America 2022R4 release set for December 2022. At that time, in order for geocoding to work, you will need to be using one of the following versions of ArcGIS Runtime and Navigator.
- ArcGIS Runtime 100.14.1 or later.
- End of 2022 releases of ArcGIS Navigator iOS (22.1.0) or ArcGIS Navigator Android (release to be determined)
Each region will be updated based on the following schedule:
- SMP North America: 2022R4 release scheduled for the end of December
- SMP Europe: 2023R1 release in April 2023
- SMP Asia Pacific: 2023 R1 release in July 2023
- SMP Latin America: 2023R1 release in August 2023
- SMP Middle East/Africa: 2022R1 release in January 2023
Using mobile map packages in ArcGIS Pro
