Clinton Johnson


Clinton Johnson, Esri's first Racial Equity and Social Justice Lead, is the founder and leader of NorthStar of GIS, a community organization focusing on racial justice and advancing equity and belonging for people of African descent in GIS and geography. Johnson is now an independent contractor at Esri. A National Geographic Explorer who received a 2023 Wayfinder Award, he's now working on Empathy Atlas, using geography to tell stories about the Underground Railroad. Prior to his work at Esri, Johnson worked for the city of Philadelphia for 17 years. He spent four years as Deputy Chief Information Officer and Chief Enterprise Architect.
