Redlands, California—Aon eSolutions, the client technology arm of Aon plc, announced it has integrated Esri Location Analytics into RiskConsole, a global risk management information system used by many of the world’s leading corporations. One of the industry’s leading risk management information systems, RiskConsole has now enhanced its analytics offering with Esri Maps for IBM Cognos. Organizations can now accurately assess the geographic component of their claim and exposure data to improve business performance and agility. Aon will be discussing these positive impacts during a free webinar, to be hosted at 12:30 p.m. (EDT) on October 30, 2013.
“The ‘where’ component of our customers’ data is very important, especially when our customers are viewing their exposures to natural hazards and catastrophic events,” said Mark G. LeVeque, product consultant with Aon eSolutions and a panelist in the October 30 webinar. “But once we rolled out our product, we quickly realized that the power of the tool had an impact far beyond just assessing natural hazards; the tool also allows customers to view any traditional risk management report in a more immediate and visually compelling manner.”
A typical business intelligence (BI) report may show a comparison of business measures, such as counts of reported claims by organizational unit, over time. Visualizing these measures against maps, where the display is enriched with additional spatial information, allows users to interactively explore locations, patterns, and hot spots they discover. Adding external data, such as weather, helps customers further assess impacts of storms on operations. Properties likely to be impacted by an event can be easily seen, helping customers make preparations and contingency plans.
“The combination of location analytics and BI leads to a powerful solution for companies that are looking to understand trends and impacts quickly,” said Simon Thompson, director of commercial industry at Esri. “Aon eSolutions customers have an advantage in the marketplace due to the forward-thinking integration of these systems.”
