Esri Unveils New Research & Development Center In Barcelona, Spain

GIS Leader Will Use New Location to Pioneer Applications in 3D, Game Engines, and Graphics

 

REDLANDS, Calif.—August 8, 2019—Esri, the global leader in location intelligence, today announced the launch of its sixteenth research and development facility, located in Barcelona, Spain. This new center will strengthen Esri’s development team as they continue to shape emerging trends in technology and geospatial awareness.

The new Barcelona location features experienced computer graphics engineers and designers who bring domain expertise to Esri’s Developer Technology Group. Barcelona is located in the Catalonia region of Spain, which has recently been experiencing significant socioeconomic growth. The new center aspires to serve as a local tech hub, stimulating creativity and innovation throughout the area.
