Overview

THE SOLUTION

Geomaster is the GIS platform developed by One Team for ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise, able to provide complete control of the configuration and publishing processes for interactive maps on the web. It originates from the need to organize the cartographic repertoire in a controlled and centralized way to share it on the web, using the most advanced ESRI technologies.

TECHNOLOGY

Geomaster uses ESRI ArcGIS for JavaScript version 4.x, which enables map viewers to reach maximum performances and the most advanced features, both in 2D and 3D. In this structure, the Application Server provides clients with the required interface and functions, reducing the amount of work performed by the cartographic server. The application of REST technologies allows the integration of multiple data sources from ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online or other Standard OCG publishing engines. Geomaster’s architecture is modular: the configuration of each map permits to enable or disable widget’s functions; and optionally, modular vertical applications can be included, through ad hoc development.

FUNCIONALITIES

The functionalities that can be implemented in Geomaster are many. Its scalable structure - based on Widgets - allows users’ needs to be focused on dedicated tools. Admins only need to configure their maps with their own data and add the necessary widgets to make them accessible from the web. This approach optimizes the development of new Widgets and enhances efficiency and interoperability, making a GIS solution the best platform for integrating different databases.

Category administration and TAG

Geomaster’s admins can organize their cartographic repertoire by gathering maps in categories and using one or more TAG to distinguish and identify them easily, according to the most suitable keywords.

Maps configuration

It contains the tools that make map consultation immediate and functional to the user’s needs. In this section, the user can set for each of the maps a range of features that make it unique, such as a title, descriptive information, the GIS content to be represented, the geographic area of work and the available tools (more than 30 widgets are ready to use, beneficial in various fields).

Basemaps administration

This tool allows for admins to manage their own catalog of Basemaps, which includes both the maps made available by ESRI, Bing, Google and Open Streetmap (according to each policy terms), and their own Basemaps prepared through ArcGIS Desktop and published in ArcGIS Enterprise.

Group and user administration

Allows the user to profile differentiated access permissions in two ways: by group, enabling map visualization for one or more groups of users; and by single user, specifying one by one how many users and which of them can consult the map.

Graphic appearance

Includes the interactive tools for customizing the graphical appearance of viewers. Admins can share the same logos and colors for all maps or choose a design template for each of them.

MODULES

BIM module

Geomaster offers tools for navigating, sectioning and querying Building Scene Layers derived from the direct publication of BIM models from Revit or IFC formats. Models can be accessed by turning families on and off, highlighting entities by floor, navigating through construction phases, making three-dimensional measurements of distances and surfaces, using a single interface.

It’s possible to integrate the ACDat platform of users to introduce through maps a geographic search key to access documents, tables, models, querying and selecting each component of the model.

Environmental Monitoring Module

Back-office portal for alphanumeric management of monitoring points and campaigns, environmental matrices, historization of analyses, investigated analytes and parameters and location on point map.

The portal is equipped with user-profiled access and is also designed to work on tablet devices. It allows data entry from the field as well. It is suitable for those who need to publish the findings of environmental monitoring related to small and large works on the territory.

Further verticalizations

Geomaster is also the ideal environment where our developers can implement solutions tailored to specific requirements. Over time, customizations have been developed for Utilities (documentation for the coordination of construction-site activities, consumption and billing), for highway operators and entities dealing with Mobility (Road Cadaster, Archive of Public Works, Vertical Signage, Road Safety, Road Construction Sites), and for Asset Managements.

GEOMASTER ON THE MOVE AND ON THE FIELD

Geomaster Viewer is the front-end web tool for accessing and consulting cartography via browser, developed with Full Responsive JavaScript technology that declines the settings of Geomaster Configurator on all types of devices, both desktop and mobile.

This parameterized map viewer is unique and flexible - 2D and 3D - developed with the latest ESRI JavaScript 4.x APIs to bring the functionality and productivity of Geomaster to the field and on the move. The interface adapts to screen size and touch navigation controls, while the panels are pop-up, both for the Table of Contents and for all Widgets. The integration with GPS positioning ensures that users’ location is automatically displayed on the map, while a simple interface linking with their favorite navigation app allows them to get directions to reach mapped objects.

SECURITY

Geomaster and all its modules can be configured to work with https protocol, integrate authentication with LDAP or enterprise Active Directory and to queue ArcGIS Enterprise services and ArcGIS Online protected by authentication.
