This 3D animation of the Millennium Force roller coaster, located at Cedar Point in Ohio, showcases new animation functionality available in ArcGIS Pro 1.2. Animation at Pro 1.2 makes it easier to author and edit a fly-through by creating interpolated paths between camera positions to create a smooth visualization. In addition, you can simulate the movement of features by creating a time or range animation. The ArcGIS Pro 1.2 SDK provides new functions for building complex, realistic 3D animations by allowing for the placement of keyframes at precise locations in the view. This results in accurate and consistent positioning of the camera with smooth perspectives such as you see in this video. What’s unique about the 3D animation capability in ArcGIS Pro is that it demonstrates how you can use existing GIS data to simulate the movement of actual GIS features in a 3D scene.
