Esri Provides GIS for the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, DTRA

The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Dahlgren in Virginia has named Esri an approved prime contractor on the SeaPort Enhanced (SeaPort-e) online portal. By being listed on SeaPort-e, Esri will make available a broad range of engineering, technical, and programmatic services related to GIS and information technology. These services will be provided to the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Marine Corps, and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA).

SeaPort-e offers these defense organizations a fast, cost-effective, electronic procurement procedure for providing task orders for professional support services from commercial firms.

Seven companies will work as subcontractors with Esri to provide the services available through the portal. The Esri SeaPort-e team includes Esri Business Partners 39 Degrees North; Penobscot Bay Media LLC; ProLogic Inc.; and Zekiah Technologies, Inc. Also included are Next Wave Systems LLC; Sphere Analytical Solutions; and Spiral Solutions and Technologies, Inc.

"The contract will provide our community of U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps customers with unprecedented access to Esri services," says Greg Mader, manager of defense services at Esri. "We previously worked as a subcontractor with several of our partners on SeaPort-e. Now we can contract directly with SeaPort-e authorized users."
