ArcGIS for Land Administration - Land Revenue Value Chain
Date: January 17, 2024
Time: 6:00 a.m.—07:15 a.m. PDT
Location: Virtual
Cost: No cost
In South Africa, municipalities manage the cadastre, registration, valuation, taxation, and billing. To support this process, Esri South Africa has built a Web GIS solution based on ArcGIS that manages the legal status of both land parcel and land registry data. It enables valuation appraisal by integrating parcel information from other systems like zoning, land use, use rights, and extent. The output from the valuation system feeds the taxation and billing systems, resulting in revenue generation for the municipalities. In this webinar, Esri South Africa will walk attendees through their land revenue value chain system and share how this is being adopted and utilized by municipalities.
The ArcGIS for Land Administration webinar series is a set of presentations by Esri, customers, and partners covering some of their experiences with the many aspects of GIS-based land administration.

ArcGIS for Land Administration - Introduction to GIS based Land Administration
Date: October 11, 2023
Time: 6:00 a.m.—07:15 a.m. PDT

Land administration is the process of determining, recording, and disseminating information about the ownership, value, and use of land and assess impact on these when planning, implementing, and managing land-related policies. With land inherently being geospatial, geographic information systems (GIS) technology provides a foundational infrastructure that allows land administration organizations to establish and enable collaboration within and between entities. In this webinar, you will learn more about how GIS technology can support land administration and hear of some implementation strategies, whether for a project, an enterprise, or a system of systems.

Building an urban cadastre and property registration in Angola
Date: June 27, 2023
Time: 1:00 p.m.—2:15 p.m. (UTC)
Location: Virtual
Cost: No cost
In this webinar on ArcGIS for land administration, Geodata, an Esri partner, presents how Esri technology was used as the geospatial foundation to establish a nationwide urban cadastral and registration system throughout Angola. The challenge for the national cadastral agency of Angola was that most of the country's registered property boundaries had not been captured or georeferenced. The agency's aim was to map 460,000 existing urban parcels as well as register 100,000 new properties built under the state-run affordable housing project. Working with Geodata and adopting a fit-for-purpose approach, the agency implemented a cadastre system based on ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Pro, taking advantage of Esri's Land Administration Modernization Program (LAMP) to minimize initial capital expenditure. This system was integrated with a web-based land registration system and successfully deployed to each of the 18 provinces of Angola.
