The Esri Nonprofit Program is designed to provide qualified nonprofit organizations with access to the ArcGIS system and other Esri training and content solutions. The program is open to organizations of all sizes and in all countries where Esri is doing business (explore Esri Locations). All organizations must undergo a review that considers the applicable nonprofit or tax-exempt status in the country where they are registered. In the United States, a 501(c)(3) public charity designation is required.
In addition, eligibility is determined by the classification of the organization’s activities. Organizations generally considered for the Nonprofit Program include noncommercial entities in the following major groups: Arts, Culture, and Humanities; Environment and Animals; Public Societal Benefit; Religion Related; and Human Services. Organizations that are not eligible for the Nonprofit Program include hospitals and health-care systems, government consortiums and entities, and academic institutions. These entities are supported through separate Esri programs and licensing vehicles. In the United States, eligibility criteria are set using the National Taxonomy of Exempt Entities (NTEE) codes.
In its sole business discretion, Esri reserves the right to independently determine the eligibility of an organization for the Nonprofit Program and revoke an admitted organization’s program membership at any time based on organization status, commercial misuse of program offerings, or otherwise. Esri further reserves the right to supplement or amend the eligibility criteria at any time.
