A Conference with the Intent to Save Lives and Improve Living

Can a conference save lives and improve the quality of life for people in our communities? It can when the attendees have chosen a career path to make a difference in their fellow humans’ lives. Individuals and organizations that seek to deliver equitable health care, improve research techniques, and increase the overall quality of life for people struggling in their daily lives. It can when the event is focused on delivering valuable learning opportunities drawing from the experience and insights from subject matter experts in technology, industry analysts, and individuals in the trenches of the health and human services profession who have an experience to share.

Such an event does exist. It is the Esri Health and Human Services GIS Conference on April 21-22, 2021.  It is a unique event that will recognize the maps and analysis that transformed operations and response during the pandemic. The event will shine a light on the work the community used to optimize facilities, model the spread, perform site selection for testing and vaccine locations, respond to questions of equity in delivering services, keep the public informed, and inform decision makers on the allocation of resources. They all approached their work using geographic information system (GIS) to rethink, modernize, and innovate during the crisis.

The pandemic will provide a context to the role technology and location-based thinking played in altering the health and human services landscape. However, the conference will also focus on the successes we are seeing addressing homelessness and the opioid crisis with GIS, the value of integrating location-based approaches and apps that you can bring to day-to-day operations and provide a foundation for standard operating procedures moving forward. The lineup of speakers will draw from Dr. Este Geraghty, Chief Medical Officer of Esri, industry leaders like Jack Dangermond, President and Founder of Esri, and Cynthia Burghard, the Research Director of IDC’s Health Insights practice.

The agenda includes timely content and inspirational sessions that will span the entire scope of health and human services focuses. Whether you are a health marketing professional looking to target segments of the market, or a hospital administrator striving for operational efficiency, or a front-line social worker, there something you can borrow from and bring back to your organization. And did I mention it’s free to attend!

I invite you to join us for this virtual event whether you are a veteran of the industry or new to GIS and spatial thinking. Major themes will include:
