Overview

The SAM IS Buildings module is a cloud-hosted configurable solution that leverages Esri’s ArcGIS Online platform and GIS hosted services. Designed as a Software as a Service (SaaS) program, it is modular-based and cost-effective, so you’re only buying what you need, when you need it.

A SAM IS subscription includes managed data services for your GIS layer (in this case, exterior and interior physical building information and data). The SAM IS Building module lets you manage all your municipal or private physical buildings while also collecting presence/location, age, and condition assessments to those structures. 

You’ll have access to historical inspection and maintenance records that are maintained throughout your building feature inventory, such as brand/style of infrastructure equipment, installation date, condition, and inspection and repair dates. SAMIS presents this data via easy-to-understand dashboards and thematic maps, providing management oversight to your overall physical building feature network. SAM IS Buildings comes with an out-of-the-box, critical-information dashboard, making it easy to understand at a moment’s notice what needs the most attention.

SAM IS Buildings assists with the communication of existing conditions and future needs via pre-defined reports and graphs, based on VHB’s knowledge of municipality requirements and client-gathered asset age and total useful life. Overall, SAM IS Buildings supports the goal of providing a comprehensive life-cycle management tool to provide critical information for maintenance, repair, or replacement from your municipal physical building feature data.
