What’s New
The February 2025 release brings more improvements to help declutter dashboards with element headers, allowing us to focus the attention of our users on the important details. Like with information windows in the menu of a dashboard header, we can now provide “as needed” information specific to visual elements with an information button. This supports keeping titles clean and concise while still providing disclaimers, metadata, or explanations about a metric or chart.

This information button resides in a new element header. Headers also contain titles, which utilize consistent styling across elements and are compatible with screen readers.
Headers are also the new go-to location for downloading data from a visual element. When we enable data download for an element, either summarized data or source data, a … menu will appear at the end of the header.

Header styling is based off the text and foreground colors defined for the dashboard theme or overridden for the element. For dashboards created prior to this release, continue reading to learn how to migrate existing visual elements.
Migrating to Element Headers
Dashboards and their visual elements created prior to the February 2025 release (and Enterprise 11.5) will continue working as before. Element headers are optional, with the exception that elements that had data download configured will get one automatically.

To move the title text into the header, configure the element. In the General tab we will notice some changes. There is now a “Header” section with a title and a few options. In the Settings section, there are new properties called “Top caption” and “Bottom caption”.

What was previously called “Title” has been renamed “Top caption” in the configuration. The former “Description” has been renamed “Bottom caption”. To get the benefits of element headers, it is recommended that we migrate content (cut and paste) to the header Title and More information. Then, we simply delete any remaining top caption text to hide that section on the element.

Headers provide convenience when authoring dashboards (no more coordinating font sizes and heading types) and help keep dashboards decluttered of explanatory text. With these new features, we can quickly turn a busy dashboard into a focused one.

Summary
The February 2025 release enhances the dashboard interface by introducing element headers. Information buttons provide contextual details without clutter. The download function has been relocated to the upper-right menu for easier access. Headers ensure better accessibility and styling consistency. Although existing dashboards will remain functional, users are encouraged to transition to the new element header setup for an optimized experience, enabling a sharper focus on crucial data insights.
