Stay Ahead with the ArcGIS Geocoding Service April 2025 Updates

By Elizabeth Ole and Robert Jensen

The ArcGIS Geocoding Service continues to be an essential tool for users requiring accurate location data for visualization and analysis. This April, we are excited to announce updates that further expand the service’s precision and reach.

These updates are specifically designed to improve the accuracy of geocoding results across various countries, assisting users in efficiently geocoding addresses, locating places worldwide, and leveraging the full suite of our geocoding service to meet their geocoding requirements.

April 2025 Release Highlights

  • Point address improvements: The service now provides more accurate matches for locations with house numbers, benefiting additional regions such as Greece, Hungary, Italy, Philippines, and Spain.

  • Subaddress geocoding: The ability to search for an apartment or unit is now supported for Denmark, Malaysia, and Switzerland.

API and Service Output Changes

When an invalid category value is included in a request, the request no longer results in an error. Instead, a responseInfo message is returned in the response which contains information about the invalid category values. Details can be found here.
