ArcGIS Geocoding Service: Explore the Recent Updates from September 2024

By Elizabeth Ole and Robert Jensen

Esri is continually making improvements to enhance precision, expand global applicability, and better meet the geocoding needs of users. In September 2024, the ArcGIS Geocoding Service team implemented several updates to enhance user experience for those locating places globally and geocoding single or multiple addresses. If you missed the announcement, the team recently introduced a Batch Geocode service, now available for Beta testing through the Early Adopter Community.

Here are a few other updates from the September 2024 Release:

Point address improvements: The service now more accurately matches locations with house numbers, benefiting additional regions such as Brazil, Greece, India, and Thailand.

Refreshed Authoritative Data: Several countries have received updated authoritative data from local suppliers. These countries include Australia, Austria, Belgium, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hong Kong, Iceland, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Poland, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Suriname.
