Getting to Know the SAR Analysis Toolset

By Elizabeth Ashley Menezes

Welcome back, SAR explorers! If you’ve been following along with my other articles, you’ve embarked on an incredible journey through the world of SAR exploration with me.

Recap

We started by delving into the fundamentals, laying a solid foundation for understanding Synthetic Aperture Radar (aka “SAR” if you didn’t already know).

From there, we moved on to the practical steps of adding data in ArcGIS Pro, including downloading SAR data from your preferred provider, navigating to the ArcGIS Pro Catalog Pane, and adding the SAR data to your map directly from the original dataset without the need for additional import or conversion tools.

We began familiarizing ourselves with ArcGIS Pro by getting started with SAR satellite imagery through ArcGIS Learn tutorials.

The ArcGIS Learn tutorial gallery is a great place to find hands on step-by-step tutorials!

Next, we demystified the various SAR sensors supported in ArcGIS Pro, gaining insights into their unique products and processing considerations. See the article series “Demystifying SAR Satellite Data ArcGIS Pro”:

We then ventured into the realm of SAR data processing, by utilizing the powerful tools in the Synthetic Aperture Radar toolset to transform nearly raw data into meaningful information.

What a journey it has been, and thanks so much for riding this wonderful wave with me (yes, pun intended)!

The Moment You’ve Been Waiting For

And now…*drumroll please*, I bring you a quick start guide on getting to know the SAR analysis toolset with the SAR Analysis story page. These tools are designed to help you extract valuable insights from your processed SAR data, making it easier to interpret and use in various real-world applications.

With that said, there’s no time to wait! Let’s blast off and launch into the full potential of SAR analysis tools in ArcGIS Pro! Just click on over to the SAR Analysis story page to learn about how to use the Synthetic Aperture Radar Toolset for analyzing SAR data.
