Esri Community Maps continues to build the best basemaps available by working with authoritative organizations around the world. Our contributors bring detailed local knowledge – like new developments, street names, landmarks, or park boundaries – that might not yet be captured in commercial datasets.
By sharing authoritative data, contributors help others in their region (and beyond) access reliable mapping information, supporting better decision-making, planning, and analysis.
Esri’s Community Maps Team has published over two hundred new and updated communities in our first quarter of 2025.

Organizations like cities, counties, universities, and other authoritative sources can contribute highly accurate and up-to-date data, improving the overall quality of Esri’s basemaps.
