Developer Summit 2015 areas of interest : Spatial Analyst

Are you a Developer in Palm Springs, CA this week for the 2015 Esri Developer Summit?  Are you a user of Spatial Analyst functionality, and would like to make sure you get the most out of your time?  Read on for some suggestions on sessions that might appeal to you.

Raster Analysis

  • Python: Working with Raster Data
    (Wednesday, 11 Mar 2015, 4:00pm – 5:00pm)
    This is the most specific presentation about doing analysis with Spatial Analyst functionality, using real world examples to introduce the Spatial Analyst ArcPy module, demonstrate best practices for using the raster object, classes and functions, and finally explore how to use NumPy arrays to extend your analytical capabilities.

Data Handling and Processing

  • Python: Working with Scientific Data
    (Wednesday, 11 Mar 2015, 5:30pm – 6:30pm)
    Learn how to integrate scientific data into your applications.  This session will focus on leveraging SciPy, a capability introduced with ArcGIS 10.3, to help you solve challenging scientific problems.
  • Python: Creating Mosaic Datasets and Publishing Image Services
    (Wednesday, 11 Mar 2015, 10:30am – 11:30am)
    Mosaic Datasets are an effective way for managing very large raster datasets, on which you can perform detailed and wide-ranging analysis.  This session will cover workflows for creating mosaic datasets and publishing them as image services.

Geoprocessing

  • Python: Developing Geoprocessing Tools
    (Thursday, 12 Mar 2015, 9:00am – 10:00am)
    Learn more about how to create Geoprocessing tools using Python, how to distribute your toolboxes, and how to extend geoprocessing using Python.
  • Deploying your Geoprocessing Tools as Python Modules
    (Tuesday, 10 Mar 2015, 5:30pm – 6:00pm)
    This session will cover how to easily and efficiently distribute custom toolboxes to your users.

Future direction

  • The Road Ahead: Desktop and Pro
    (Thursday, 12 Mar 2015, 4:00pm – 5:00pm)
    Here’s a chance to hear the direction Esri is headed for the next couple of years, including demonstrations of some early development projects.
