Prerelease for ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9 Now Available

By Jill Edstrom-Shoemaker

The ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9 prerelease is now available on My Esri to all qualified customers and includes a sneak peek into what’s coming in this release.  As with previous prereleases, below are important notes and considerations:

  • The ArcGIS Enterprise prerelease is an early preview of the upcoming release. It is not feature complete – several new features and enhancements will only be available in the final release.  See My Esri for any known issues.
  • You will need to generate your licenses for ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9 in My Esri.
  • This is our first prerelease where it is supported to upgrade from prior versions of ArcGIS Enterprise to the 10.9 prerelease.  It is not supported to upgrade from the ArcGIS Enterprise prerelease to the final release or any other future versions.  With this in mind, install the prerelease on a system that you plan to decommission after testing.

The prerelease features new capabilities for Enterprise portal administrators, including administrative reports and multifactor authentication for built-in accounts.  In addition to this, there is a new Enterprise portal home page editor and email settings can be set within the Enterprise portal.  Be sure to check out the what’s new sections in the installed help for additional information on new features and functionality available in the prerelease.

Please contact technical support if you need assistance working with the prerelease. If you do not see the prerelease in My Esri and expected to do so, please contact customer service.
