REDLANDS, Calif.— February 23, 2022— In the past two years, digital services and technology offerings have greatly expanded in the government sector as agencies strive to maintain services throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Geographic information systems (GIS) served as a foundational tool in this technology momentum helping government entities make data-driven decisions among other benefits.
At the forefront of observing technological trends in government is GovTech.com, an online division of the publication Government Technology. Each year, the online source releases an annual compendium of 100 companies that provide technology-driven innovative solutions to local, state, and regional government agencies across the United States. 2022 marks the sixth consecutive year that Esri, the global leader in location intelligence, has been recognized on the GovTech 100 list.
The list, released in the January issue of Government Technology magazine and online, recognizes organizations making a difference for government agencies and comprises a combination of Fortune 100 companies, enterprise organizations, and startups. Curators behind the list include the GovTech Biz editorial team, investors, government officials, outside data partners, and market experts.
“The GovTech100 for 2022 recognition best illustrates how GIS continues to be an invaluable tool and framework for government agencies to navigate during these rapidly evolving times,” said Francis Kelly, partner manager at Esri. “It is an honor to be recognized among our partners and other organizations making an impact on the GovTech100 a sixth year.”
Esri partners nominated on the 2022 GovTech 100 list include 120Water, Accela Inc, Airspace Link, Cartegraph, CentralSquare, Itron, Mark43, Motorola, OpenGov, Rock Solid Technologies, Tyler Technologies.
“In working with local and state governments across the country, we have found that location-based technology consistently offers decision-makers powerful insights to manage programs, evaluate critical issues and make data-driven decisions,” said Christopher Thomas, director of government markets at Esri. “More than ever, our mission of helping customers make an impact using GIS is critical. We are humbled to have this important work recognized.”
