MapStudio for Homeland Security is an ArcWeb Services solution for crisis management and situational awareness. This application provides crisis management centers the ability to create a common operational view with accurate street data, imagery, census data, and real-time weather, without having to load any GIS software onto their desktop.
With MapStudio for Homeland Security you can
- Access timely and accurate data through a secure, password-protected browser.
- Post incidents, events, or other points with icons that distinguish incident or event type. This situational view can be shared with the appropriate staff, team, or emergency management personnel.
- Find places anywhere in the world quickly and geocode addresses or intersections anywhere in the United States.
- Output hardcopy maps for printing or in PDF format for digital transmission and e-mail.
- Have multiple users in your organization access the same data. Users can also share saved views of this data among the members of a team.
- Upload your own point data sets detailing critical sites, hazards, assets, or other information of interest. Users can also add important locations (such as places where incidents have occurred) and store these locations so that other users within your organization can access them as well.
- Add imagery to your map. For example, imagery can help you visualize what the buildings look like at the scene of an incident.
- Download data in shapefile format and add it to an ArcGIS Desktop project so you can combine it with local data.
