What's New in PLTS for ArcGIS—Foundation 9.2

  • Editing tools have been updated to support ArcSDE personal, ArcSDE workgroup, and file geodatabases.
  • GIS Data ReViewer has been completely revised.
  • New functionality has been added for dynamic text.
  • Surround elements can now be added from the Insert menu and saved to a central element library.
  • The Graphic Table Element tool creates interactive or data-driven tables in your map layout.
  • Views allow you to manage layers and data frame settings from a geodatabase.
  • New tools allow you to manage and assign representations and text in accordance with a database model using visual specifications.

What's New in GIS Data ReViewer 9.2

  • ReViewer sessions that can be stopped and started and have several properties that can be configured
  • ReViewer sessions that can be stored in all ESRI-supported geodatabase types and can be versioned if they are stored in an enterprise geodatabase
  • Expansion of the number of data analysis checks available and the ability to string these checks together and execute them in batch mode
  • Configurable batch validation, which allows users to store and rerun QC tests
  • The ability to store the ReViewer Table in a file, personal, or SDE geodatabase
  • A redesign of both the ReViewer Table user interface and database storage
  • Extensibility of GIS Data ReViewer objects to support developer customization including new checks and processing of ReViewer sessions outside ArcMap

What's New in Map Production System—Atlas 9.2

  • There is now a toolbar for MPS-Atlas. This toolbar contains tools that allow you to manage the Data Frame Manager, placement rules, dynamic text, and map sheet properties as well as create polygon grids.
  • Several enhancements have been made to the Grid Manager. These enhancements include additional options in the Grid Creation wizard and changes to the Grid Designer.
  • New functionality has been added that allows you to configure the way data is viewed in ArcMap. A view controls what appears in the map in terms of the layers that are loaded, while visual specifications control the symbology for features in the map.
  • Dynamic text has been completely redesigned. Major changes include the ability to use expressions to format the returned text values.
  • You can reshape existing areas of interest (AOIs) and recalculate your map sheets based on the changes to the AOI.
  • All map sheets can be made single at the same time.
  • Multiple map sheets can be added using a visible extent to define the AOIs.
  • Buffers can be based on page units, so it is possible to buffer each page by one inch, for example, without regard to scale.
  • The Dynamic Definition Query now recognizes the common fields from all layers chosen to participate in the query. It no longer only uses the bottom layer.

  • A comprehensive Aeronautical Information Systems (AIS) data model
  • Support for most International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) charts including sample data and templates
  • Support for terminal procedure creation
  • The ability to import aeronautical information exchange model (AIXM) data
  • Integration with a rich data editing environment that includes the ability to create complete aeronautical features using the Feature Builder
