Getting Started with MOLE

To use Military Overlay Editor for ArcGIS (MOLE), complete the following steps:

1. Uninstall any previous versions of MOLE before installing a newer version.
2. If you plan to install MOLE 9.3 beta, download Installing and Getting Started with Defense Solutions guide and review chapter 3, "Installation and Setup." 9.3 beta release notes are in relnotesbeta.pdf. If you plan to install any of the other versions listed in the following step, use the installation instructions in the getting started .pdf file at the top level of the .zip file you download.
3. Select the version for download:
   MOLE 9.3 Beta for Windows [ZIP-76.1 MB]
   MOLE 9.2 for Windows [ZIP-91.2 MB]
   MOLE 9.1 for Windows ]ZIP-48.0 MB]
   MOLE 9.2 for Linux [TAR-109 MB]
   MOLE 9.2 for Solaris [TAR-93 MB]
4. For complete installation instructions—for example, steps for how to install MOLE silently or how to give users with non-administrator privileges access to all MOLE functions—see chapter 3, Installation and startup, the .pdf file at the top level of the .zip file you downloaded. For the 9.3 beta, you can also access this PDF from the link in step 1. For the other versions, you can also access it here, Getting Started with Military Overlay Editor guide. This file is located at the top level of the .zip file you downloaded.
   Abbreviated instructions:
   
   - Unzip the .zip or .tar file.
   - Windows: Run Setup.exe.
   - Linux or Solaris: run ./Setup from a terminal window.
