Getting Started

To start using Census Tools for ArcGIS, you need to go through the following steps:

1. Download Census Tools for ArcGIS.
   Please note: Census Tools for ArcGIS must be used with official LUCA and BAS program United States Census Bureau-supplied data.
2. Run the setup.exe to install Census Tools for ArcGIS. There are two components installed by the setup.exe—LUCA extension and BAS extension.
3. Start ArcMap and turn on the extension by clicking the check box in ArcMap Tools > Extension. Click close when you have selected the desired extension.
4. The toolbars associated with the enabled extension (LUCA or BAS) are automatically added to the map.
5. Click the help button on the toolbar to launch the help provided for the extension.
