What is a rasterizer?
A rasterizer is software that converts all the elements of your map into a single raster image. ArcPress produces a single raster image in your printer's native raster language, enabling your printer to directly print your map.
What kind of map data works best with ArcPress for ArcGIS?
ArcPress for ArcGIS works best, especially if your large-format maps contain
  • High-resolution imagery
  • Complex or detailed vector data
  • Transparency or bit map symbology
Can I use ArcPress for ArcGIS with other ArcGIS Desktop extensions?
Yes. ArcPress for ArcGIS will rasterize and print any data and information you have placed in your ArcMap layout including those of other ArcGIS Desktop extensions.
What printers are supported by ArcPress for ArcGIS?
ArcPress for ArcGIS supports a wide range of large-format printers commonly used by ESRI customers. These include all HP Designjet printers such as the HP Designjet 1000, 800, and 5000 printer series as well as the wide-format 120 printer series and Epson Stylus Pro.
