Build 450 (January 30, 2008)

Build 440 (December 19, 2007)

New Features

  • Faster access to ArcIMS services. You can also now easily access and control ArcIMS sublayers.
  • Support for pop-up windows with both local data and results displayed on the map. You can also customize and configure pop-ups using style sheets.
  • Instantaneous navigation to a target area via "move to" feature.
  • New symbol set. You can also add custom symbols using local image files or images located on the Web.
  • Improved KML support.
  • Enhanced Resource Center makes it easier to find results and tasks.

Build 380 (April 30, 2007)
New Features
  • The default ArcGIS Explorer map features a new ArcGIS Online globe service offering 500 m and 15 m resolution satellite imagery of the world, with 1 m resolution aerial imagery for the contiguous United States.
  • The Navigator is now located directly on the map display and has been streamlined.
  • ArcGIS Explorer now provides basic printing capabilities.
  • The File Import Wizard allows you to display x,y coordinates and addresses from delimited text files (.txt or .csv) as results in your map. You can also automatically populate the results pop-up windows with information from the text file including HTML links to Internet sites.
  • The Find Place task has a new interface with improved search capabilities.
  • When adding a WMS service you can choose individual or multiple sublayers instead of the entire collection in the group layer, making WMS services more manageable.
  • A new KML contents window is accessible by right-clicking any KML layer in the Contents window. If you click on a sub layer with a description, a KML pop-up window displays the available information about the specific layer.
  • ArcGIS Explorer now automatically detects and inherits your proxy server settings, making it easier and faster to connect via your existing server LAN settings.
  • The New Map File (NMF) file format now has the option to include user credentials when saving a map, making accessing secure services and maps easier without compromising security.
Build 350 (January 4, 2007)
New Features
  • Allow keyboard navigation while using track line or track polygon in the measure and create notes tasks.
  • Vertical altitude (elevator) navigation has been added.
  • Provide new unit options for the Position Status bar: Military Grid Reference System (MGRS) and U.S. National Grid (USNG).
  • Provide improved functionality for Go To Location: Support for MGRS, USNG, and decimal degrees, as well as the ability to create results for the location.
  • Clouds, stars, and atmospheric halo are properties of each map and are stored in .nmf rather than as properties of the application.
  • Set Home Server restarts ArcGIS Explorer automatically.
