This application uses SAS to integrate data and ESRI GIS for geospatial mapping.
This new application was developed to enable nations and cities to view their global ranking along areas of business, government, infrastructure, culture, and education on a heat map. A visual depiction can often reveal emerging trends and insights that are critical in addressing innovative solutions for the welfare of individual countries, cities, and our world as a whole.

The SAS Fair Banking solution includes SAS Bridge for ESRI, ArcView, and ArcGIS Publisher.
Realizing that geography is a critical component of the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), National City, one of the largest financial institutions in the United States, implemented the SAS Fair Banking solution. The solution centralized and automated National City's data management function, allowing its senior managers instant access to reports showing income and minority distribution in requested areas.

SAS Bridge for ESRI and ArcGIS are discussed.
Implementing the SAS Bridge for ESRI has allowed the Economics Department of the University of Copenhagen to combine multisource data and geographic maps to get an overview of the trends in demographic development. This research helps government and businesses understand correlations related to their work, leading to better decision making and faster problem solving.

As part of the Census School District Tabulation, the Census Bureau employed the SAS Bridge for ESRI to link demographic data in SAS to school district boundary files in ArcGIS. This tabulation includes more than 100,000 demographic attributes per school district and can be used by policy makers and the public to better address problems unique to their school districts.
