Business Objects Expands Geographic Analysis Capabilities with ESRI GIS for BusinessObjects XI Release 2
Business Objects, an ESRI corporate alliance and provider of business intelligence solutions, announced an integration kit for ESRI ArcIMS and ArcGIS Server and BusinessObjects XI Release 2. This product was developed by APOS Systems, a Business Objects Technology Partner and ESRI business partner, to provide a powerful two-way bridge between these industry-leading solutions. With BusinessObjects XI Release 2 and the new BusinessObjects Integration Kit for ESRI GIS, Business Objects provides customers with the ability to quickly and easily access geographic data.

ESRI's International User Conference DVD Receives Rave Review
Jeff Thurston, editor of Geo:International Magazine, gives an enthusiastic review of ESRI's release of the full coverage of its International User Conference, held this past August in San Diego. The entire weeklong conference, including 175 technical sessions, ArcGIS 9.2 demonstrations, and Jack Dangermond's plenary presentation, was recorded and is now available on one 15-DVD set. Thurston refers to the set as a "must consider" for organizations moving into the ArcGIS 9.2 release. Learn more at www.esri.com/ucdvd.

ArcWatch Updates Content, Adopts a New Look ESRI's monthly online e-magazine for GIS news, views, and insights was recently redesigned and new content was added, including an in-depth feature and a Tip of the Month. In every issue, ArcWatch will publish the latest news from ESRI and interesting articles about how GIS technology is changing the world. These features will be written by industry leaders, academics, ESRI staff, and others who keep their fingers on the pulse of the latest trends and innovations in GIS and related fields. Homeland Security Industry Solutions Specialist Joins ESRI
Paul Christin has joined the ESRI industry solutions team from Motorola where he worked as the market development manager for Public Safety and Location Services. Paul has also served his community as a firefighter/paramedic, which has provided him with an insider's perspective on software applications in the public safety market. At ESRI, Paul will be responsible for helping grow the homeland security market by leveraging his software marketing experience and his knowledge of the public safety market. The Global Natural Disaster Hotspots ArcIMS Application
The global Natural Disaster Hotspots online ArcIMS application-built by World Bank staff and consultants in the Information Solutions Group (ISG) and ESRI business partner Blue Raster LLC-is now live on the external Web site of the World Bank. This interactive tool provides a basis for identifying geographic areas of highest relative disaster risk potential to prioritize disaster risk reduction investments and better inform development efforts. STDBonline Chooses ESRI Business Analyst Online to Provide In-Depth Analytics
Site to Do Business (STDBonline) will incorporate ESRI's Business Analyst Online, ESRI's Internet-based report and mapping generation system, to provide decision-making and site analysis tools for more than 17,000 members of the Certified Commercial Investment Member Institute, the governing body of the largest commercial real estate network in the world. The system will provide on demand, presentation-quality reports and maps with GIS analysis and extensive demographic, consumer spending, and business data.

2007 ESRI Business GeoInfo Summit
The 2007 ESRI Business GeoInfo Summit, Dallas, Texas, April 23–25, 2007, will brief C-level executives, managers, and developers on geospatial analysis and business intelligence capabilities for the enterprise. Sessions and technical demonstrations will examine the role of GIS technology in managing spatial and customer data across the enterprise, integrating real-time information (GPS, weather, traffic, etc.) for operations, and serving geographic data for applications and Web services. 2007 ESRI Survey & Engineering GIS Summit Expanded to Include Civil Engineering
Civil engineering will now be a central component of ESRI's annual survey and GIS conference. This event, officially renamed the ESRI Survey & Engineering GIS Summit, will take place June 16–19, 2007, concurrent with the ESRI International User Conference in San Diego, California. The summit will continue to focus on key topics for surveyors and related industries. However, the new program will be enhanced to include prevalent issues in engineering including GIS integration with site and land development, lidar, photogrammetry, engineering and analysis, construction, and as-built surveying. 2007 ESRI International User Conference

The 2007 ArcNews/ArcUser media kits are now available online [PDF-496 KB]. The kits contain rates, deadlines, benefits of advertising in ArcNews and ArcUser, readership by industry, and more. New this year will be guidelines on proper use of ESRI trademarks and logos to assist you in creating ads for ESRI approval. The media kits will also be mailed within the next month.
