ESRI Shows SQL Server 2008 Spatial Support at Microsoft Launch
Microsoft's premier launch event of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 took place in Los Angeles, California, on February 27. ESRI was the only business partner to demonstrate integration with SQL Server 2008 on stage with Microsoft presenters. This support is the result of a close, multiyear collaboration between ESRI and Microsoft in the development of SQL spatial extensions to SQL Server 2008. View a video [MWV-4:49].

TECO Peoples Gas Implements Trimble's UtilityCenter Enterprise GIS Solution across Florida
Trimble announced that it has completed the implementation of its ArcGIS software-enabled UtilityCenter® uaFM™ information technology module for TECO Peoples Gas. Peoples Gas is Florida's leading natural gas provider, with offices in major metropolitan areas serving more than 320,000 commercial, industrial, and residential customers. The implementation involved converting existing MicroStation data to ESRI ArcGIS format, integration of GIS data from various local agencies in 29 Florida counties, and parcel-level geocoding of existing customer locations. Personnel ranging from front-office clerks to management and field service personnel are now able to utilize UtilityCenter and its associated modules.

ESRI and Citrix Webcast - How to Accelerate, Extend, and Secure Your ESRI GIS
On March 12, 2008, ESRI and Citrix hosted a 60-minute live webcast featuring the CIO of the National Association of Counties (NACo), IT professionals from the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SFWMD), and ESRI senior enterprise architect Ty Fabling. The presenters discussed how adding Citrix solutions to existing GIS implementations gives more users faster access. SFWMD explained how it leveraged Citrix to provide fast, secure, and streamlined access to its GIS and 84 other business-critical applications. View the archived presentation.

ArcGIS Server Gives Maui Electric Company Enterprise GIS Access Using the Web
Maui Electric Company, Limited (MECO), is using ESRI's ArcGIS Server software and Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Internet Information Server, and Microsoft ASP.NET to quickly and easily deliver GIS capabilities throughout the organization. With support from Information Services supervisors, MECO's GIS shop implemented the Web-based system out of the box to deliver spatial applications and data to utility workers for use in daily operations as well as specialized analysis.

ESRI Business Analyst Online Now Includes New Data for Creating More Detailed Analyses
New datasets added to Business Analyst Online, ESRI's Web-based business analysis tool, enable professionals in commercial real estate, retail, economic development, urban planning, and public safety organizations to conduct even more comprehensive market analyses with data reports and imagery.

ESRI Releases ArcGIS 9.3 Beta
ESRI is currently distributing the beta version of ArcGIS 9.3. In addition to enhanced performance, participants in the beta program will experience improved functionality and easier integration of data and services. Using the Web, mobile devices, and desktop applications, GIS content and capabilities can be shared with people who may not even be aware they are using GIS. A highlight of ArcGIS 9.3 will be the new JavaScript APIs that will make it possible to create mashups using ArcGIS Server technology.

ESRI Software Gives Residential Real Estate Agents and Brokers a Better Look at Houses
YourMLSsearch.com has integrated ESRI's RouteMAP IMS into its Web hosting services for multiple listing service (MLS) agencies throughout the United States. YourMLSsearch.com provides Internet solutions for real estate agents and brokers including Internet Data Exchange (IDX), Web site hosting, and Web site development. RouteMAP IMS is incorporated into YourMLSsearch.com's iMapRES, allowing the company to host interactive mapping and residential data searches for more than 80 MLSs in 20 states.

Three Organizations Reduce Costs with Enterprise Integration of ArcGIS
Three organizations have recently made ArcGIS the core of their IT infrastructures to more precisely manage their enterprises and reduce the expense of using and maintaining cumbersome legacy systems. The Georgia Department of Transportation, Qatar Telecom, and the Virginia Department of Forestry have found significant benefits from implementing ArcGIS.

Cleveland Residential Run-ins Mapped Out with a Click
The Plain Dealer, March 2, 2008 - Administrators in the City of Cleveland, Ohio, have implemented a new system to allow them to better detect early signs of trouble. City officials will be able to tap into all the records - fires, police calls, housing violations, snowplow routes, and boarded-up houses - with an innovative use of ESRI mapping software.
