Airports Authority of India Selects ESRI Enterprise GIS Technology for Height Clearance Compliance System
Airports Authority of India (AAI), the national agency responsible for the management and maintenance of the country's civil aviation, has awarded the No Objection Certificate Application System (NOCAS) project to NIIT Limited, parent company of NIIT-GIS Ltd. (ESRI India). The enterprise-wide GIS application will implement ESRI's ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE, and ArcObjects and Microsoft's SQL Server to automate the prioritization and processing of No Objection Certificate applications.

Featured Gartner Keynote at ESRI Developer Summit
ESRI is pleased to announce that Mark Driver, vice president and research director at Gartner Research, will give a keynote presentation at the ESRI Developer Summit to be held March 19–22, 2007, in Palm Springs, California. Driver will speak about the strengths and weaknesses of the Java and .NET environments and the trade-offs that should be considered in shaping your technical architecture. The summit will also include a series of in-depth technical seminars and a Plenary Session given by senior members of ESRI's software development team. GIS Takes Olympic Gold at Torino 2006
While spectators remained firmly focused on the performances at the Olympic Winter Games in Turin, Italy, the organizing committee worked nonstop behind the scenes to ensure that sporting events and related activities were conducted with clockwork precision. Organizers implemented GIS as a strategic tool to manage transportation and other activities, and thus was born the Torino 2006 GIS. Employed ESRI software products included ArcInfo, ArcView, ArcGIS 3D Analyst and ArcGIS Spatial Analyst extensions, and ArcPad. In addition to use by Olympics staff members, the GIS was used to create event maps for the general public that were available online at kiosks located throughout the area.

Newmont Mining Corporation Selects ESRI for Global GIS Enterprise License
Newmont Mining Corporation, the second largest gold producer in the world, recently selected ESRI as its GIS software provider. The global enterprise license agreement will enable Newmont Mining to deploy ESRI's ArcGIS products in a GIS architecture that is open, scalable, and standards based and that will integrate with and leverage existing Newmont Mining IT resources at its operations on five continents.
