Topography of the Town of Castle Rock

The topographic elements presented here represent a sampling of what the Town of Castle Rock has used to analyze its surroundings.

These data sets have helped establish base elevations for water tanks as well as identify elevation ranges for water pressure zones. Detailed analysis of the data has revealed hydrologic features and watershed drainage patterns.

This data has also been used to determine sensitive areas in ridgeline and skyline preservation analyses, and the information was used to enact ordinances to protect those sensitive areas.

Aside from the planimetric data that is used regularly, the topographic data sets would be considered the most valuable data at Castle Rock.
