Mapping and Visualization

Mapping with ArcGIS

Measurements, survey points, and computations are all managed and stored in a GIS system. Raw survey data, COGO measurements, and field sketches can be entered directly into the GIS.

You can use GIS software and technology for collecting, importing, converting, and storing spatial measurement and computational fabrics for agencies and private businesses of any size. Also, you can integrate computations (COGO, least squares, etc.)and pre-existing networks, as well as import spatial database classes and relationships

ArcGIS 3D Analyst provides extensive tools to visualize geographic vector or raster data in three dimensions. You can easily drape your data over the terrain; use attributes, such as elevation, to display the data at a preset height; or use attributes to extrude the data.

ArcScan for ArcGIS simplifies the data automation process by providing the method and tools to clean up scanned paper maps and vectorize lines and polygons.

Use ArcScan for ArcGIS to

  • Automate the conversion of scanned paper maps to vector form.
  • Reduce the time and expense in creating GIS data.
  • Eliminate the tedious need to digitize the data by hand.
  • Easily clean up scanned maps.

ArcGIS Publisher adds easy and cost-effective map publication capabilities to ArcGIS. Use ArcGIS Publisher to create published map files (.pmf) from any ArcMap document (.mxd). Published maps can be viewed using any ArcGIS Desktop product, including the no-cost ArcReader application, allowing you to freely share your maps with a wide range of users.
