The focus of this Yokohama National University research project was to develop an efficient urban taxi management system using 417 taxis with car-mounted Global Positioning System (GPS) units in Sendai City, Japan.

Sanding Route Map
This atlas was created by Applied Geographics, Inc., for the Dedham Department of Public Works staff members who perform snowplowing and road sanding services for the town. The roads in Dedham were analyzed to develop five areas of approximately equal road length. The atlas was designed for clarity and produced in an easy-to-handle 11-by-17-inch format. A copy was made for each of the plow trucks.

Volume 20: GISHelping Manage Our World
Analysis of Emergency Medical Service Calls for St. Johns County, Florida Emergency medical services data taken from one year of emergency calls can be displayed and analyzed using GIS. The data used to create this map came from St. Johns County Fire Rescue's Computer-Aided Dispatch database containing more than 12,000 emergency call records. Each of these emergency call records has an address attribute that could be geocoded and imported into a GIS layer for analysis.

Building Tomorrow's Data Warehouse Today In the context of the data warehouse, protected streets are defined starting with the capital project completion date. The data warehouse viewer is able to thematically map the street segments using color range and line thickness.
