The Road to GIS at Mississippi's Department of Human Services
Mississippi is using GIS technology to track food stamp fraud with help from Louisiana, who developed a similar program last year. By porting the application from Louisiana, they significantly reduced the cost to one-tenth of what Louisiana spent. These savings coincided with the agency's goal of only implementing technology resulted in real dollar savings.
