Applied Geographics, Inc., was contracted to provide the Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management (MCZM) with GIS data research, collection, automation, standardization, and metadata development services. The datasets all relate to human uses of the coastal zone.

The Israel Physical 1:700,000-scale map series depicts Israel in aesthetic shaded relief. Planimetric details, such as roads and streams, were partially derived and generalized from the national GIS database. The purpose of this map is to provide every school student with a handy folded map portraying Israel's topography.

An artistic blend of digital elevation data draped over a three-dimensional globe sets the stage for a section of the National Geographic Atlas of the World, Eighth Edition, composed of maps focusing on natural resources and elements including biodiversity, freshwater, and tectonics.

The National Map—Prototype Graphic Product
The National Map is a consistent framework of geographic information for the public. It provides access to high-quality, geospatial data and information from multiple partners to help support decision making. The vision is that, by working with partners, the public will have access to current, accurate, and nationally consistent digital data and topographic maps.

GIS in the Public Interest
This map was developed as the central element in a larger graphic poster used to shape congressional actions on forest protection throughout the eastern seaboard.



Volume 17: Geography and GIS—Sustaining Our World

City of Stockton
This map was one of many maps produced to analyze the spatial relationships between library users and existing library facilities. The mapping process involved querying for all active library users from the library's patron database.


The Map Book Gallery features the ESRI Map Book series dedicated to acknowledging the important and innovative accomplishments of GIS users around the world.

Published annually, each volume of the ESRI Map Book showcases a small portion of the work presented at the Map Gallery Exhibition at the annual ESRI International User Conference.
