License OptionsESRI offers a variety of licensing options to meet the needs of individual students, educators, and schools.
For more information about ESRI Software, contact your local ESRI Regional Office, ESRI Distributor or the ESRI K-12 Education Team. For information about purchasing software, see the section How to Buy. Student/Educational Individual LicensesEducational Individual Licenses are available to students, instructors, faculty, and other educators for academic or research use. These licenses are limited to academic or research use only; commercial use is prohibited. Purchases are limited to one copy of any given software product/release per individual. Software products available as an Educational Individual license include
Schools and Libraries Building LicensesThe Schools and Libraries Building License applies to a single K-12 school, public library, or museum and allows use of the software for instructional purposes only. (Software for administrative or research purposes should be purchased through the LAB KIT Program.) This license provides the right to copy and use the software on up to 500 computers within the physical confines of the building and on teachers' home computers for the purpose of developing curricular materials. LAB KIT LicensesLAB KIT licenses are designed for research and administrative use, and are available to accredited educational institutions (colleges, universities, K-12 schools) as well as libraries, museums, and non-profit educational research institutes. LAB KIT licenses provide multiple copies of ESRI software for use within a computer lab/classroom or within a single department. The initial license includes media and documentation and is called the LAB KIT Master License. Additional licenses of the same software and version may be purchased and added to the LAB KIT. Commercial use is prohibited. District Site LicensesDistrict Site Licenses are designed for settings where GIS is required by multiple schools. District site licenses provide a cost-effective alternative to individual licenses. A district site license covers a whole school system and permits the use of ESRI software throughout the organization for teaching, research, or administrative purposes for a single annual fee. This fee includes software maintenance, access to virtual campus courses authored by ESRI, user conference passes and technical support services. All site licenses require a signed contract. Please contact ESRI K-12 Education at k12-lib@esri.com for details. Site License TiersBasic and Unlimited There are two tiers for District Site Licenses: (1) Basic and (2) Unlimited. Each Site License tier includes the same deliverables and controls the number of ArcGIS ArcInfo licenses, user conference passes and tech support contacts. The benefits include: Basic Site License Benefits

Third-Party SoftwareSome ESRI software includes third-party software or data that cannot be made part of the Site License program. Examples of software that contains third-party components include ArcView Business Analyst, ArcGIS Business Analyst, ArcView Tracking Analyst, ArcGIS Tracking Analyst, ArcGIS Data Interoperability, and ArcGIS Survey Analyst. In the case of ArcView Tracking Analyst, ArcGIS Tracking Analyst, ArcGIS Data Interoperability, and ArcGIS Survey Analyst, ESRI has been able to negotiate a tiered fee per year (per version) to these extensions for educational site licenses. For specific pricing information, please contact your local ESRI Account Representative or the ESRI K-12 Education team. Once a purchase order has been received by ESRI, the customer service representative will request that a contract amendment be added to the site license. A signed contract amendment is required before keycodes can be issued for these third-party products. All site licenses require a signed contract. Please contact ESRI K-12 Education at k12-lib@esri.com for details. |
