NOAA Coastal Services Center Releases New Version of ArcView Metadata Collector and NOAA Nautical Chart Extension

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Coastal Services Center has released a new version of the ArcView Metadata Collector and the NOAA Nautical Chart Extension.

The ArcView Metadata Collector v2.0 is an ArcView extension that provides a dialog for the production of Federal Geographic Data Commit (FGDC)-compliant metadata. Some of the updates to the original version include a new and improved user interface; more saving, editing and appending features; and more attribute documentation options.

To address the issue of viewing NOAA Nautical Charts in a common desktop Geographic Information System (GIS), the NOAA Coastal Services Center partnered with ESRI to create an ArcView extension. The NOAA Nautical Chart Extension for ArcView 3.x allows BSB-formatted NOAA Nautical Charts to be viewed in the ArcView 3.x environment. This extension has been updated to reflect enhancements made for ArcView 3.1.
