GIS for Environmental Analysis

Hill Shade AnalysisUsing geography in the analysis of environmental data helps identify trends and patterns. GIS provides the tools needed to quantify these trends and patterns through geospatial analysis.

Specialized software extensions offer specific types of analyses. When presented as a series of grids, ArcGIS Spatial Analyst can create data surfaces from discrete data points and environmental data. The ArcGIS Geostatistical Analyst extension investigates the relationship between different data layers. You can use ArcGIS 3D Analyst for volumetric and three-dimensional work and use the new Geoprocessing toolbox for modeling.
