Volume 19: GISThe Language of Geography
Generalized Contours of the Sauk Sequence for Characterization of Saline Aquifers for CO2 Sequestration The Sauk sequence is the lowest major sequence of rocks (a largely uninterrupted depositional system, bounded below and above by major nonconformities [or periods of nondeposition]) within the Paleozoic strata of North America. The lowermost unit of this sequence is the Mount Simon Sandstone of Middle Cambrian Age.
Volume 16: GISCreating Communities
ESRI Map Book/Geology The maps in this online volume show how GIS is cutting across disciplines, providing a common language for discussion, and bringing people together in the decision-making process. GIS enables us to share data in different societal communities thereby creating a framework for this global information network.
The City of Springfield, Missouri, developed karst maps to mitigate the impacts of wastewater discharge on groundwater in karst areas.
Maps from Hidden River Cave, Kentucky, and Mammoth Cave, Kentucky created by the Cave Research Foundation GIS Resource Development Program can be viewed, along with other information.
Published annually, each volume of the ESRI Map Book showcases a small portion of the work presented at the Map Gallery Exhibition at the annual ESRI International User Conference.
