GIS for National Cadastre Systems

screen shot

National cadastre systems require many levels of technology that have the capacity to manage millions of land parcels and real estate objects. ESRI's integrated collection of GIS products is well suited for these requirements.

Desktop users can create, edit, and share parcel and map data with others throughout the organization with ArcInfo, which extends the functionality of both ArcView and ArcEditor with advanced geoprocessing. ArcPad is the tool for field data collection, often used in the valuation process.

In addition, national cadastre systems are most often decentralized and operate as an enterprise of multiple computers in many locations, requiring more than desktop applications.

The ESRI geodatabase template for land records supports the industry's efforts to standardize the way land records are defined and stored in data management systems for multiple users.

ArcGIS Server technologies supports public access to land records and title registry via the Web.
