We want to ensure that GIS-related projects have the best chance for success possible. GAP also encourages a long and mutually beneficial business relationship between ESRI and our customers.
What is a federally funded grant/cooperative agreement?
Most of the grants we promote are funded by the federal government. A federal grant/cooperative agreement is an award of financial assistance from a federal agency to a recipient to carry out a public purpose of support or stimulation authorized by a law of the United States. Twenty-six federal agencies annually offer more than 1,000 grant programs in various categories.

Federally funded grants and cooperative agreements generally require a detailed proposal that conforms to the federal agency's application instructions. If an applicant is awarded funds, there are specific reporting requirements that dictate when and how an applicant reports back to the federal agency about uses of funds and what has been accomplished.
