Introduction to ArcGIS Image Server, $540

ArcGIS Image Server provides fast access to file-based geospatial imagery, allowing organizations to distribute the imagery to a variety of clients and leverage their investment in the data. This course teaches how to manage and serve image data using ArcGIS Image Server.

Who: This course is designed for those new to ArcGIS Image Server who want to learn about its architecture and functionality. Students do not need to know image processing or other remote-sensing techniques. This course does not cover image analysis. Students should have completed Introduction to ArcGIS I or Learning ArcGIS Desktop, or have equivalent knowledge.

What: Students learn how to work with different raster formats and ArcGIS Image Server raster types, author image services, and deploy panchromatic and multi-band imagery. Students also learn how to generate service overviews; apply compressions; apply image processes techniques; and access image services through Image Server Viewer, and ArcMap. Learn more.

Introduction to ArcGIS Server, $540

Note: This class is full. You can be added to the waiting list by registering for the class.

This course introduces ArcGIS Server and teaches how to install, configure, and use the product as administrators and consumers of GIS services. Topics covered include creating out-of-the-box Web applications using Manager and using GIS services in both Web applications and ArcGIS Explorer.

Who: Those new to ArcGIS Server who want to learn about its architecture, capabilities, and client applications. Participants should have completed Introduction to ArcGIS I or Learning ArcGIS 9, or have equivalent knowledge.

What: ArcGIS Server provides a complete server-based GIS system that supports the use of centrally managed spatial data for mapping and analysis. Participants will learn how to publish maps, globes, and geoprocessing models that are optimized for performance. Learn more.

Introduction to Geoprocessing Scripts Using Python, $540

This course introduces Python scripting language and shows how it can be used to access and automate geoprocessing functionality.

Who: Experienced ArcGIS users who want to learn how to automate everyday processes or create complex analytical scripts. Participants should have completed Introduction to ArcGIS I or Learning ArcGIS 9 and Introduction to ArcGIS II, or have equivalent knowledge. Basic programming skills, such as loops and conditional statements, are also required.

What: One of the aspects of the ArcGIS 9 geoprocessing framework is the scripting environment. Participants learn Python scripting syntax and then begin writing scripts to automate geoprocessing operations. Participants also learn how to incorporate Python scripts as custom tools in ArcToolbox. Learn more.

Typically, these training classes span two days. The schedule has been modified for SERUG attendees.
