Henrik Dahlin

DHL Express Europe
DHL Express Europe, a global leader in international express, overland transport,
and air freight, uses GIS to help determine the best terminal locations for
its trucks and to plan routes to minimize fleet driving distances.

- Henrik Dahlin is currently the process engineering manager at DHL
Express Europe. Along with managing this specialist functional area, Dahlin
is also responsible for executing business functions in the Nordic region,
Italy, and Iberia.
Dahlin began working at DHL in 2001 and has held a number of senior management
positions. He started his employment at the company in line management, and
by 2003 became responsible for Engineering and Infrastructure in the Nordic
region. In 2005, Dahlin transferred to Sweden where he was acting head of
business development, focusing on strategy development and country project
portfolio management. During this time, he introduced the use of GIS for
optimizing delivery routes in the country, saving 600 hours per day in wait
time at the terminals and reducing gas consumption throughout the organization.
