Knowledge-sharing is an essential part of the Business GIS Summit. We encourage the user community to tell their GIS stories. Communicate your best practices, successes, and innovative GIS applications with others who face the same day-to-day challenges in the commercial and related industries.

We look forward to hearing about your exciting work in the following areas:

  • Business Continuity Planning
  • Business Value and Benefits of GIS
  • Collaboration and Data Publishing
  • Site Selection and Territory Design
  • Return on Investment

Accepted presenters will receive discounted registration and present a
25- to 30-minute live presentation as part of a moderated session. Abstracts and papers will also be published as part of the conference proceedings.

Submission Guidelines
  • Your title may not exceed 10 words.
  • Your abstract cannot be longer than 2,500 characters.
  • At no time is it permissible for a paper presenter to use his/her time slot to advertise or promote a product, service, or company.
  • Do not write in all CAPITAL LETTERS. Remember, the information you enter is used for publishing purposes (e.g., Web site, agenda, CD-ROM).
  • Paper submissions and presentations must be in English.
  • No bullet points or numbering should be used.
Submissions Should Include
  • Author/Presenter name(s)
  • Presentation title with brief abstract (as noted above)
  • Topic category
  • Company name
  • Complete address, phone, and fax
  • Brief presenter biography (25 words or less)
Important Information
  • All papers and presentations must be noncommercial. Proceedings will be published on the event Web site. This year's committee will evaluate all abstracts and make selections based on topic, content, and time available. All authors will be notified after the selection process. A detailed program of presentations and events will be provided prior to the conference. Projector equipment and an internet connection will be provided.
  • There are a limited number of presentation slots available. We cannot guarantee that all submissions will be accepted.
  • If your abstract is accepted, please list all authors and co-authors in the appropriate order on your PowerPoint presentation. This information is used for the conference proceedings.
Tips for Abstract Writing
  • Be sure to answer these questions.
    • What is the problem? Why did you complete this project?
    • What methods did you use and how?
    • What are your findings or results?
  • What do your results mean for the audience?
  • Do not include information in your abstract that will not be included in your presentation.
  • Avoid using unknown acronyms, abbreviation, or symbols.
