Earthquake Support 2007
On August 15, 2007, a magnitude 8.0 earthquake occurred 25 miles west-northwest of Chincha Alta, Peru and 90 miles south-southeast of Lima, Peru. In the active quake zone of Ica-Lima-Pisco, communities were demolished, communications were disconnected, the Panamerican Highway was cracked, and at least 500 people were killed and more than 1,000 injured.
